Stress management is vital to how we navigate our emotions, develop our relationships and maximize our performance.  Our goal is to deconstruct stress and make stress management approachable.  This workshop places an emphasis on understanding your story and how stress has played a pivotal role in shaping your experiences.

Your instructor will:

1.     Illuminate the ways we prioritize professional training against the realities of the mission critical teams environment.

2.     Identify and practice actionable methods for maximizing performance that include breathwork, emotional labelling and cognitive reappraisal.

The academic content is made easy to understand through the use of humor, story and audience participation.

The instructor, Gordon Mitchell, is an active duty law enforcement Corporal with 10 years of operational experience to include time on SWAT and over 5 years as a Lead Instructor in Violence De-escalation. Corporal Mitchell’s instructional experience ranges from armed and unarmed combatives to field training and leadership. Emotional intelligence for Mission Critical Teams

Monday, November 11, 2024 Friday, November 15, 2024

Session 1 - 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM Session 3 - 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Session 2 - 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM Session 4 - 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Emotional intelligence is vital to how we manage our emotions, develop our relationships and maximize our performance.  Our goal is to deconstruct emotional intelligence and make it approachable.  We support an understanding of emotional intelligence with actionable protocols that are scientifically proven to work.  This workshop places an emphasis on emotional self control while inspiring participants to maximize their personal and professional relationships.

In the end, our workshop participants will be inspired to lead themselves in a way that promotes individual and group health and performance.

Your instructor will:

1.     Deconstruct emotional intelligence (EI) and identify key protocols to develop EI.

2.     Work with you to develop emotional management skills for high stakes encounters.

3.     Identify and practice actionable methods for personal development.

The entire course provides academic content made easy to understand through the use of humor, story and audience participation.  We explain emotional intelligence by deconstructing the domains: self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness and relationship management.   Each phase also provides at least 3 actionable protocols grounded in scientific research that has improved EI in those committed to practicing.  The protocols are no cost and simple to understand.

The instructor, Matt Porter, is a decorated active duty law enforcement Sergeant with 17 years of operational experience to include 16 years on SWAT and over 5 years as a Master Instructor in Violence De-escalation. Sergeant Porter’s instructional experience ranges from armed and unarmed combatives to instructor development and leadership.
