Emotional Intelligence for Peer Support Team

Compassion Fatigue Resilience: Understanding, Managing, and Overcoming the Toll of Caring

Compassion fatigue is a reality for those who dedicate themselves to serving others. It impacts our emotional well-being, our relationships, and our ability to perform at our best. This workshop is designed to help participants recognize the signs of compassion fatigue and develop practical strategies for resilience and recovery.

By exploring personal experiences, we will examine how repeated exposure to trauma and the emotional burdens of helping others shape our perspectives and responses.

In the end, our workshop participants will be empowered to sustain their personal well-being while continuing to serve effectively—fostering individual and team health without burnout.

Your instructor will:

  1. Highlight the imbalance between professional training and the emotional realities of working in high-stakes, service-oriented environments.

  2. Introduce and practice actionable strategies for managing compassion fatigue, including mindful breathing, emotional processing, and cognitive reframing.

Through humor, storytelling, and interactive participation, the workshop presents academic concepts in an engaging and accessible way.
